Frequently Asked Questions

Academic Compliance refers to the process of understanding and meeting the academic requirements necessary to remain eligible for college athletics and scholarship opportunities. Many families are unaware of the specific course requirements, grade point average standards, and enrollment timelines set by college athletic associations. At Youth Education and Sports, we walk both parents and students through every step of this process using clear, easy-to-understand guidance. Staying academically compliant is one of the most important things a student-athlete can do to protect their path to college and their scholarship opportunities.

Registering your child is a simple and straightforward process. The first step is to use our registration link to sign up for the program or course that best fits your child's goals and needs. Once you submit your registration, a member of our team will reach out to contact you directly and help you set up your account. From there, your child is ready to begin. You are also welcome to call us or send an email if you have questions before registering or if you would like to speak with a team member directly.

TSAAP is our flagship mentoring program and the heart of everything we do at Youth Education and Sports. Through TSAAP, every enrolled student is required to set three monthly goals across three important areas of their life. Those areas are academic progress, social development, and extracurricular engagement. Each goal is tracked and recorded in a growing digital portfolio that captures the full story of a student's journey over time. Students in TSAAP are also required to participate in civic engagement and community volunteering, helping them develop a strong sense of responsibility and purpose.

Youth Education and Sports has been making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families since 2002. That is more than two decades of consistent, community-centered work. Since 2017 alone, we have served more than 4,600 young people through 15 carefully designed programs. Every year, we continue to grow our reach and deepen our impact across the communities we serve.

Our programs are open to student-athletes and young people from all backgrounds. We have a particular commitment to serving under-resourced youth who may not have easy access to quality mentoring, academic support, or college preparation resources. Whether your child is excelling and looking for the next challenge or struggling and in need of steady guidance, there is a place for them at Youth Education and Sports. We welcome every young person who is ready to put in the effort and grow.

Youth Education and Sports, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that has been dedicated to the growth and success of student-athletes since 2002. We provide structured mentoring programs, academic guidance, athletic development, character building, and portfolio development resources to young people who need the right tools and support to reach their full potential. Our work is rooted in community, built on strong values, and focused entirely on helping young people succeed in school, in sports, and in life.

Yes. One of our primary goals is to help student-athletes position themselves to earn both academic and athletic scholarships. We do this by providing academic compliance guidance, helping students build strong digital portfolios, developing their character and leadership skills, and preparing them to present themselves confidently to college coaches and admissions counselors. We do not guarantee specific scholarship outcomes, but we give every student the knowledge, tools, and preparation they need to pursue every opportunity available to them.

The digital portfolio is a complete, organized record of a student-athlete's achievements across academics, athletics, community service, and extracurricular activities. We teach every student how to build and maintain this portfolio throughout their time in our programs. Each portfolio includes a custom shareable link that can be sent directly to college coaches, scholarship committees, admissions counselors, and potential employers. In a competitive environment, a well-built portfolio gives student-athletes a distinct and meaningful advantage that many of their peers simply do not have.

Our Athletic and Training Development program introduces student-athletes to proven training techniques and philosophies designed to raise their level of performance in a healthy and sustainable way. We work with students on physical conditioning, technical skill development, and the mental side of athletic competition. Our approach is focused on steady, long-term improvement rather than short-term results. We want every student-athlete who works with us to step onto their field, court, or arena with genuine confidence and preparation.

Character development is woven into everything we do. We believe that talent alone is never enough to build a successful and fulfilling life. We help student-athletes develop the qualities that coaches, employers, and communities genuinely value, including integrity, discipline, respect, empathy, and accountability. Our character development work helps students practice these qualities in real situations so that they become natural habits rather than just ideas. Every college program in the country is looking for young people with outstanding character, and we make sure our students walk in with exactly that.

The Southern Skillshot Training Camp is our structured eSports program designed for young people who have a passion for competitive gaming. This 12-week training camp helps aspiring gamers improve their skills in their chosen game while also developing the same qualities we build in all our student-athletes, including discipline, goal-setting, teamwork, and academic responsibility. Students in this program set monthly goals, complete regular practice sessions, and work through structured lessons covering multiple aspects of both competitive play and personal development.

Youth Education and Sports offers both in-person and virtual program options to serve as many families as possible. Our monthly community meetings are held virtually every first Saturday of the month at 11:00 AM Eastern Time, making them accessible to families regardless of location. Specific program formats may vary, so we encourage you to reach out to our team directly to learn about the current delivery options available for each program.

Our monthly virtual meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. These meetings are open to enrolled students, parents, and anyone who is interested in learning more about Youth Education and Sports and the programs we offer. They are a great opportunity to stay connected, hear program updates, ask questions, and engage with our community of mentors, coaches, and fellow families. We strongly encourage every family we work with to attend regularly.

The Student Athlete Achievement Program materials consist of a program guide and a structured journal, both designed specifically to support the mentoring and goal-setting work we do with student-athletes. These materials help students track their goals, reflect on their progress, and build the disciplined habits that lead to long-term success. The complete set is available for 41 dollars. This is an affordable and practical investment in your child's development that they will return to throughout their entire journey with Youth Education and Sports.

Yes. Youth Education and Sports, Inc. is a registered nonprofit organization. Our mission is centered entirely on serving young people and their families, particularly those who are under-resourced and may not have easy access to quality mentoring, academic preparation, or athletic development programs. Every program we offer and every dollar we receive goes directly toward creating better opportunities and outcomes for the students we serve.

We believe strongly that parents and guardians are essential to a young person's growth and success. That is why we keep families informed, involved, and engaged throughout every step of the process. We host monthly virtual meetings, share educational resources with parents about the college recruitment and eligibility process, and maintain open communication between our team and the families we serve. When families and our organization work together with a shared commitment to a young person's growth, the results are always stronger and more lasting.
